How To Format Your Dissertation

In this article, we are going to focus on how an essay’s layout should looks like. We will be going through an essay’s format briefly starting from selecting your paper, till the end of your essay. Let’s not waste any more time and start formatting your essay.
Selecting Paper
In formal academic articles or dissertation, you should use a good quality and clean white paper of 8 1/2″ x 11″ in size. Your text should appear on only one side of the paper.
Margins
Margins may differ according to your writing style (MLA, APA, and Chicago). Writing style is decided by your professor/teacher, so ask him and follow his instructions.
Numbering Pages and Paragraphs
Pages have to be numbered to make it easy for the reader to be sure of the order of your essay. Numbers are put in the upper right hand corner flushed with the right margin and 1/2″ from top. For the main body of your dissertation, only Arabic numbers are to be used. Don’t try decorating your paper in any way. It’s advisable to put your name before the page number, like Michael 5; it’s useful in case your papers are messed up with another colleague’s papers.
Spacing between Lines
To give your professor a chance to leave comments, your whole paper should be double spaced. Also be sure that you have 1″ margin on all sides.
Spacing between Words
Generally, leaving one space between words and another one after every comma, semi-colon, or colon is enough. Some people are used to leave two spaces at the end of every sentence whether the sentence ends with a period, a question mark or an exclamation mark; it’s not wrong to leave two spaces after a period. But NO space should be left before a punctuation mark.
Indentation
Indentation is usually a 1/2″ space left at the beginning of each paragraph. You may indent your paragraph or not depending on what you professor tells you to do. Whether you indent or not, you must be consistent with your choice throughout the whole dissertation. Read the rest of this entry »

An accreditation is a way of assessing and evaluating existing institutions via a set of standardized criteria. Accreditation doesn’t only apply for educational centers, it is also done to hospitals, government and private agencies, companies, corporations, organizations and many others. The importance of an accreditation is that it certifies an institutions quality of services. If you’re online high school diploma is not coming from an accredited school, there’s a big chance of you not being accepted to college or to the company you want to work into. Also, your online school must also be accredited by certified or authorized accreditators.
