Is Your Child Safe at Public Schools?

The world today is not the one you grew up in. So much so that many parents are pulling out their children from public schools for fear of exposure to drugs and violence. Although this is one of the primary reasons, other reasons include the perceived ‘lower quality’ of education received as well as the low teacher-to-student ratio, which indicates that students are not getting the appropriate guidance they need in school.

A Look at the State of Public Schools
The schools are government administered. The government MUST do this because it’s the law that each individual has a right to education. As in many government-funded establishments, funding is of course tight in public schools.

With the current economic state, more and more children go to school because it’s not costly. However, since the budget is already stretched as it is, it cannot hire enough teachers. As a result, there’s a low teacher-to-student ratio.

Also, let’s face it; most advanced or specialized teachers go to private schools because they get paid better there. As a result, the teachers in public schools are not of the same caliber as those you may find in expensive private schools.

Further, budget constraints also mean lack of proper school equipment. For instance many public schools suffer from outdated computers for use in computer-related classes. Gym equipment can also be outdated at best.
